Introducing

SA Sauces

SA Sauces was founded in 2014 by husband and wife Russ and Jackie Stubbs.

Russ was always an enthusiastic amateur chef. Although never professionally trained, he loved the creative process of designing and experimenting with sauces. From that passion, the concept of SA Sauces – Simply Add – was born.

From the very beginning, the concept was extremely well received. Their first food show was a great success, despite starting out with a range of just six flavours. The original plan was to sell directly to the end consumer, exhibiting at food shows and festivals and then servicing repeat customers through an online store.

Several years later, after being approached by an increasing number of farm shops, butchers and independent retailers wanting to stock the products, a more retail-friendly boxed version was developed.

Today, SA Sauces supplies more than 50 independent retail stores across the UK, while still retaining the values that have been at the heart of the business from day one.

Every pot is still made by hand in their home kitchen in Madeley, Cheshire. As the business has grown, Russ and Jackie are particularly proud that there has been no compromise in either the quality of the ingredients or their commitment to excellence.

And, from those original six flavours there are now over 18 flavours, SA Sauces has now sold well over one million pots... special shout out to my brother Ray always supportive, always there.

The Great Taste Awards

The Great Taste Awards were established in 1994 by the Guild of Fine Food to recognise and celebrate exceptional food and drink. What began as a small UK competition has grown into one of the world’s most respected food accreditation schemes, with thousands of products from producers around the world entering each year.

What makes Great Taste particularly respected is the judging process. Products are blind tasted, meaning judges do not know the brand or packaging behind what they are tasting. They are assessed primarily on taste, along with factors such as texture, aroma, appearance and quality of ingredients. The judging panel is made up of hundreds of food industry experts, including chefs, food writers, buyers, retailers and producers.

For independent and artisan producers, a Great Taste Award is more than just a logo. It provides independent recognition that a product has been judged on its own merits and found to stand out for its quality and taste. It has become a trusted mark of quality for both consumers and specialist food retailers.

SA Sauces is extremely proud of its success in the Great Taste Awards, having received multiple Gold Stars for its products over the years. These include Two Gold Stars for the Wild Mushroom Sauce, as well as one Gold Star each for Peppercorn & Tennessee Whiskey, Black Garlic & Red Wine, and Red Onion & Madeira.

For a small, independent producer, these awards are a tremendous endorsement of the quality, flavour and craftsmanship that goes into every pot.
